In the quietude of morning

autumn sleeps in

and waits for the sun

to chase the dew

Birds and reptiles are lethargic

squirrels sleep in ’til noon

Dog walkers have no choice

but to walk their furry masters

Cat lovers let their cats outside

and crawl back under blankets

Video gamers are just going bed

joggers are robotic drones

The homeless are put out of shelters

to forage on downtown streets

Golfers have no sense

smokers need their fix

You have a new book to read

rise for coffee with a friend

and think you may rake leaves
