Aerosol plume

(for my worry wort friend…)

Often, I lie awake

concerned about my peeing habits.

Lid up or down when flushing?

Over the years my wife has trained me

put the seat back down after peeing,

but I am lazy and often leave the lid up

when I flush and lie awake,

concerned about the impact on my health.

Thank God, this morning my news feed

allayed my fears with an article,

“Should You Flush the Toilet with the Lid Up or Down?

Experts Settle the Debate”

According to experts who study peeing,

the aerosol plume escapes

whether the lid is up on down.

So it doesn’t really matter.

Now I thinking

that if I hold my breath,

race to bed and quickly pull the covers over my head,

I might survive my aerosol plume.
