Truth?

I do not know the difference between

an omen, an augury or happenstance

and don’t believe the dictionary’s testimony

is the only truth or final word

this morning, after prayer

a coal black humming bird hovered

near my head, landed on a small branch,

sat still, stared at me a bit,

then rose up, hovered near my head, again

before it disappeared into the blue

if this is arbitrary or has a deeper meaning,

maybe, my day will reveal
