(some James Whitcomb Riley channeling)
Hush, little darlin’, don’t you cry,
The Bogeyman won’t catch you and not I.
He hides in shadows, dark and sly,
A nice, warm, cozy bed our alibi.
Close your eyes, my precious dear,
Bogeyman can’t come near.
Dream of stars, crystal clear,
In our love, there’s naught to fear.
Sleep tight, my sweet, in night’s embrace,
The Bogeyman can’t invade this place.
For in our dreams, a happy space,
Chase fears away, leave only grace.
So snuggle close, my little dove,
In warm embrace, a fur-lined glove.
No Bogeyman, below or above,
Can break the bonds we made of love.
