Our neighbor’s cat

Our neighbor’s cat creeps quietly

doesn’t jingle the bell around its neck

chases birds in my yard and

leaves the squirrels alone

A feral cat habituates

the shadow corner of our yard

hunts rodents in the night and

I’m okay with that

I don’t like our neighbor’s cat

I wish he’d stay at home

eat kibble and bits upon their porch

and leave our birds alone
